Tell people about His glory

Theme: Mission (evangelism)

(Matthew 28:19-20) 19. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

When you study church growth, a question is asked: Why does the church exist? When you review the Scriptures, you will find out what it says about the church, its nature and its task.

One of the reasons the church exist is to communicate God’s Word (mission, evangelism). The Bible says we are ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:20) and our mission is to evangelize the world. The word “GO” in the Great Commission is a present participle in the Greek text. It should be read “as you are going.”

It is every Christian’s responsibility to share the Good News wherever we go. We are told to communicate to the world of Christ’s coming and I believe He is coming soon. The task of evangelism is important, in the Scriptures, Christ gave us five Great Commissions, one in each gospels, and one in the book of  Acts, -

  • Matthew 28:19-20
  • Mark 16:15
  • Luke 24:47-49
  • John 20:21
  • Acts 1:8

Jesus commissions us to go and tell the world the message of salvation, Evangelism is more than our responsibility, it is our great privilege. We are invited to be a part of bringing people into God’s eternal family. As long as there is one person in Casa Blanca community who does not know Christ, the church has a mandate to keep going on announcing the Good News.

A.B. Simpson said, “The Christian is not obedient unless he is doing all in his power to send the Gospel to the heathen world”
